University of Sydney Main Campus!!

Dear everyone, me, xueting and yiling made a trip down to University of Sydney (UOS) main campus in Camperdown.

I bought a card that shows The Nicholson Museum, supposed to be slightly whimsical, with a boy in graduation suit, being asked by a gargoyle, 'Would you adopt me?'. This was told to me by the lady who opened the sovenior shop. Liked the card alot and decided to find the actual building and we found the actual Museum!!

(* for info: a gargoyle is a grotesquely carved human or animal figure found on an architectural structure, their original function is to serve as a spout to throw rainwater clear of the building. The word gargoyle comes from an old french word 'Gargouille', which means gurgle to represent the sound produced when water passes thru the throat. They are usually found on upper levels of the building and serves to keep the evil spirits away)...just some research done on gargoyles on the internet, who were believed to be disliked by humans despite that they helped stood and guarded the building...dats why perhaps the card shows a gargoyle asking a human to adopt him...this is just my understanding of the card combined with my limited understanding of these mythical creatures which are so amazing....hope it's not too booring...=)

Top: drawn picture of The Nicholson Museum in UOS, notice the boy in the graduation suit looking at the gargoyle in the basket(*a bit blur* paiseh paiseh)
Bottom: the actual Nicholson Museum (if you're pretty sharp, there should be a difference spotted amongst the windows haha+)

Top: gargoyle at the stairs, me stroking him Bottom: another gargoyle at the top of the stairs

We also went to the quadrangle (Do you see the four squares below?) Noticed that the lion in the building is the retired lion that had left the roof of the towel, the new one guards the quadrangle now..=)

The "ancestor" of the current lion who guards the quadrangle(above) has retired after 140 years (located within Anderson Stuart Building
